Tournaments in North Mississippi aren’t as frequent as I would like to see. We do have a few during the year. PDGA tournaments are pretty much non-existent in my area, where the Southern Nationals rule in tournament sanctioning. Which brings me the good news of this post.
There is a new disc golf tournament series that will take place in 2016. Created by fellow TDGA member Robby Harris and his wife Cassie, it is called the Weapons of Grass Destruction series. Making stops in 5 towns with Tupelo, MS being in the center, it will highlight the wealth of disc golf opportunites in North Mississippi.
With a singles and doubles one day tournament each weekend, it’s bound to be a great series. Featuring a stop in places that have great disc golf courses, it will be a great series that spotlights the disc golf scene in North Mississippi. If you have any questions, you can stop by the first event page on Facebook. All of the events are Southern Nationals sanctioned.
If you live anywhere within an hour or two of these events, they will be worth making the trip to participate. I plan on taking part in at least two of these events, as one is in my hometown and the course is only two miles from my house.
You know the dates. You know the locations. Now, just mark your calendar and get some fieldwork or practice rounds in before the events. See you on the course!!
Note: Shortly after this was posted, I was notified that some of the dates had changed. The series poster was updated, and I updated it in this post as well.
