This has been a banner year for disc golf as a sport. From the largest purse payout at the Ledgestone Open to the Majors Grand Slam by Paul McBeth, we have been fortunate to watch many of the biggest PDGA tournaments live. While the live coverage has been on Youtube or other streaming portals, that live coverage has been pretty good and resulted in at least a thousand viewers each day.

What seems to have made the biggest splash is the inclusion of some disc golf aces on ESPN in their Sportscenter Top 10 plays. There were five that made it to the #SCTop10 in 2015. Below you can take a look at each one, and be on the lookout in 2016 for more great shots caught on video so we can get more exposure for the sport we love to play.

Sportscenter Top 10 Aces

In order of appearce, enjoy.

What I think was the best ace of the group only placed at #10.

Billy Engel’s ace made it to #2 on Sportscenter Top 10.

Dave Feldberg’s ace ended up at #2.

For such a tough hole, Philo only made it to #8.

Paige Pierce’s ace made it to #1 on the Sportscenter Top 10.

I hope you enjoyed the great shots that all of these disc golfers made. Many of you have had an ace yourselves, and while we all want one, if we want more exposure for the sport, it is important that we all support efforts to increase the media coverage of disc golf.

So, when you see something about an ace at a A-tier, NT, or Major disc golf tournament, hope on Twitter and tweet about it to @Sportscenter with the hashtag #SCTop10. I would love to see more aces in the top plays rather than the repetitive diving catches and bare handed throws to first base we get from baseball all summer long.
